Why Elect Heather Christianson to the Whatcom Conservation District's Board of Supervisors?

Heather Christianson lives in the small farmhouse her grandfather built with his father in 1933, and where she spent many afternoons working with her grandparents on their farm. This deeply personal and historical connection to Whatcom County contributes to Heather’s dedication to preserving what we value most about living in such a beautiful, community-minded area. The economic interests of our farmers are vital to our community’s health, as are the environmental conservation measures that help preserve what we love about our County.

As a lifelong learner, Heather approaches new challenges with an open mind and a dedicated desire to understand all perspectives. Her experience of building bridges between diverse communities will be a strong asset when it comes to working with the Board as it supervises the work of the organization in achieving its mission.

We are all stewards of the land, water, and air. Through her contributions as a member of the Board of Supervisors, Heather will be an excellent example of conservation stewardship. She firmly believes that the programs the Conservation District implements to inform and assist residents about their conservation choices have already helped move the needle on water quality in Whatcom County. Heather believes her services on the Board of Supervisors will help these critical programs continue into the future.
